MHEP’s Training and Technical Assistance Center offers training and skills building actitivies to people in recovery, mental health professionals, and the community-at-large on a full range of topics that help people connect with their personal power and the power of self-help.
- We join with the mental health research community to collaborate on studies for the purpose of increasing the evidence base that proves the effectiveness of self-help and mutual support for people who have been given a psychiatric diagnosis.
- MHEP convenes community focus groups with people who are involved in the mental health system to learn about their experiences and identify opportunities to promote recovery-based changes to the service systems they use.
- We engage people as collaborative partners and promote community organizing activities that unite people to create stronger communities and a sense of citizenship.
- MHEP promotes and supports the growth and development of Peer Networking Groups across New York State.
