Overview:

The New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB), a project of the Mental Health Empowerment Project (MHEP), has an immediate opening for a full-time Coordinator in support of the New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB). This position is intended for a candidate with strong organizational, customer service and computer skills. For more information about the NYPSCB, please visit www.nypeerspecialist.org.

Job Description:

The coordinator is responsible for facilitating the activities of the NYPSCB Contract; assisting the NYPSCB in the implementation of the New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) certification program and  performing duties necessary for the NYPSCB’s office to conduct its business effectively and efficiently. This position provides coordination of the data entry, logistical support, and data management as appropriate and is also responsible for interfacing with the NYPSCB’s Certification Clerk, Outreach/Trainer, Certification Board members, and its’ committees.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Certification Clerk on certification applications, attachments, and materials
  • Overseeing the database including entering, managing, and maintaining database records
  • Facilitating the work of the board sub-committees  
  • Manage social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn)
  • Outreach and public relations to support the activities of the Certification Board

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience managing a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills  
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and data base management
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Experience in the field of peer support services preferred
  • HS diploma or equivalent
