TROY, NY: The Empowerment Exchange is proud to announce our annual cookout, which will be held today, Friday, May 24th, from 2 PM to 6 PM. The event will take place at our office, located at 2136 Burdett Ave., Troy, NY 12180.

The Empowerment Exchange is a program of the Mental Health Empowerment Project (MHEP). Based in Rensselaer County, we are a peer support program dedicated to empowering individuals by providing them with the tools to find their own voice. As individuals who have received mental health assistance in the past or present, we believe in the possibility of recovery for everyone. The core of our work is the belief that people can regain their freedom and quality of life.

Amy Colesante, Chief Executive Officer of MHEP, remarked, “The Empowerment Exchange does incredible work in our community, offering invaluable support and resources to those on their journey to recovery. Their dedication and commitment to empowering individuals is truly inspiring.”

Every year, the Empowerment Exchange hosts a community cookout as a safe space to bring people together. There will be food, drinks and music. Join us for this wonderful opportunity to meet your community, get to know our staff and enjoy a good meal.

Rob Rodger, Director of the Empowerment Exchange, shared his enthusiasm for the future, saying, “I am incredibly excited about what’s on the horizon for the Empowerment Exchange. Our annual cookout is just one example of how we bring our community together and I look forward to continuing to expand our outreach and support.”

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Rensselaer County Department of Mental Health for their unwavering support. Their partnership is crucial to our mission and success.

MHEP extends our heartfelt thanks to those who support us at the cookout each year, and we are equally grateful to those we will meet for the first time. We hope to see you today!
